The reason I'm a bit confused about the licensing or requirements for fax on 2.0 is because so far, out of the box, it does receive faxes. It's just that they keep breaking for some reason. I'm using SIP T.38 trunks for testing. I know the trunks are working fine because faxes come in as they should when I point the trunks to some of my other servers. Why are they breaking on elaxtix?
Also, I am still running a couple of 1.6 servers which I had installed nvfax detect along with avantfax. They are still working perfectly as VM's on an ESX host.
I was wanting to take advantage of the newer version of elastix but have not been able to find enough information to piece everything together yet.
Your post at least suggests that we now have two ways of doing faxing, digium or vnfax which is nice. I don't mind paying for digium assuming it gives me something I don't already get by doing a little hard work. For example, installing nvfax and avantfax are tricky but not overwhelming.
It appears that the digium solution makes it easier to install everything needed for I/O faxing. But, does it count licenses on outgoing only or incoming or fax to email etc. I've not found enough info to get a clear images of that yet.
